Our vision is to become the premier and permanent choice as a provider of high-quality extra-tuition to Grade 10-12 learners to achieve a 100% pass rate to learners attending our Mathematics, Physical Sciences, Life Sciences, and Accounting classes thereby increasing the number of skilled citizens in Africa by making education accessible beyond the confines of a brick and mortar environment.
The mission is to develop excellence in education and training to support the development of the community, society, and economy. We are dedicated to assisting our students to develop the skills, intellect, and productive lives in the global community of the 21st century through the provision of extra tuition and support classes to Grade 10-12 learners studying Mathematics, Physical Sciences, Life Sciences, and Accounting.
The Acronym L.E.A.R.N is derived from the following founding principles of our organization, being
Leadership, Education, Ability, Respect, and Nation at Work.
We are a philanthropic not-for-profit organization engaged in identifying learners doing Grades 10-12 with a particular bias towards Mathematics, Physical Sciences, Life Sciences, and Accounting tuition services.
The L.E.A.R.N Foundation was established in 2010 in Kwa-Makhutha Township in KwaZulu-Natal. The major objective of The L.E.A.R.N Foundation is to provide extra support classes for learners doing their matric for highly critical but most failed subjects such as Mathematics, Physical Sciences, Life Sciences, and Accounting.
The foundation aims to enhance the academic potential of learners in the province by providing quality extra tuition and revision classes for struggling learners following a strict timetable.
The L.E.A.R.N Foundation is a groundbreaking, innovative idea that supplements regular tuition with an intensive revision program to improve the pass rates in the most failed subjects namely: Maths, Physical Sciences, Life Sciences, and Accounting.
From humble beginnings, this organization was formed in 2010 to address the problem of a high failure rate in Mathematics, Physical Sciences, Life Sciences, and Accounting. This was becoming a serious problem in Kwa-Makhutha Township in KwaZulu-Natal and we had to come up with a solution that was going to curb the acceleration of failure.
The poor results saw many young girls and boys failing to be admitted at tertiary institutions like Universities. Furthermore, the school dropout rate was becoming high because of the perception that these subjects were too complicated.
The L.E.A.R.N Foundation was formed to achieve several objectives namely:
- To improve the pass rates in Mathematics, Physical Sciences, Life Sciences, and Accounting not only in Kwa-Makhutha Township but at uMlazi District as a whole and in many places of the province of Kwa-Zulu Natal by hiring private tutors to provide support revision and tuition classes.
- To uplift and instill the importance and the value of education in our young children who are the future leaders of South Africa.
- To instill moral values and leadership skills in the learners.
- To reach out to learners from disadvantaged learners coming from poverty-stricken households, orphans and child-headed households coming from both rural and township environments who require particular effort not only educationally but also through the provision of recreational facilities and role modeling.
We are equally mindful that it’s such particular effort that will meaningfully inspire sense of purpose where there is no hope.
This will create a generation of constructive and goal-driven children and produce well-rounded and functioning adults who contribute to the legacy of creating a safe, stable and prosperous country where every citizen is driven towards excellence in whatever they do for their communities.
We align ourselves with those who seek to do all that must be done to improve matric pass rates in Mathematics, Physical Sciences, Life Sciences, and Accounting thereby eliminating hopelessness in our learners and opening boundless opportunities for them in the world, bringing out the potential in our learners and in so doing avoiding the fatal consequences of hopelessness such as socio-political instability.
